Sport Centre Assistant
Job Description
Contract: Casual – 10 – 25 hours per week
Required as soon as possible
Salary: Grade B Point 3 - 4, £22,737 - £23,114 Pro Rata (Hourly Rate £11.79 - £11.98) Pay Award Pending
We are seeking to appoint an excellent casual Sports Centre Assistant to work within the Community Sports Centre team on weekends and evenings. The initial days are thought to be all day Saturday, Sunday evening and Tuesday evening – this is subject to negotiation. Although the approximate hours per week are 10 this will vary according to the needs of the facility. At busy times there may be an option to work more than 10 hours and, likewise, during quiet periods the number of hours will be less. The important thing is that you will need to be flexible.
The role will involve:
- Overseeing bookings for weekends and evenings, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the customer before the session starts
- Promoting the facilities to ensure they are used to their maximum potential
- Liaising with external organisations to maintain positive relationships by all parties
- Acting as a first point of contact for customers of all the facilities both within the Sports Centre
- Collecting and receipting of money paid by customers, ensuring all cash and card payments are securely held at the end of the shift in accordance with the set procedures in place
- Ensuring that site rules are adhered to by all customers and the general public/spectators
- Notifying the relevant staff of any issues/problems encountered during the evening
- Updating of emails and keeping the Sports Centre system up to date including the calendar of bookings
