Doing our bit in a festive knit!
Every year, PLP holds a collection for a selected charity as part of our fun ‘Christmas Jumper Day’. For the second year in a row, we have chosen ‘Save the Children’ as one of the world’s leading humanitarian organisations dedicated to improving the lives of children in need. Established in 1919, the charity has made remarkable strides in providing emergency aid, healthcare, education, and protection for vulnerable children across the globe. With a mission to ensure every child’s right to survival, development, and well-being, Save the Children operates in over 100 countries, working in both emergency and long-term development settings. The significance of the charity’s efforts cannot be overstated, and the donations it receives are crucial in enabling its life-changing work.
One of the most important aspects of Save the Children’s work is its response to crises. Whether it is a natural disaster, a conflict zone, or a public health emergency, children are often the most affected. The organisation quickly mobilises resources to provide immediate relief in the form of food, clean water, medical care, and emergency shelter. In conflict areas, children face the threat of violence, exploitation, and disruption to their education, and Save the Children provides not only physical assistance but psychological support as well.
