Job Description
Salary Range: Teaching Assistant - Grade C, £24,790 rising to a maximum of £25,584, per annum pro-rata
Hours/Contract: 29 hours per week, permanent, term-time only, Monday to Friday
Pilgrim Primary Academy is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive teaching team. The ideal candidates will be hard working, friendly and outgoing and have relevant experience of working in a school setting. You will have a passion for supporting young children’s learning and development and enjoy working as part of a team.
This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated and well organised individual. We are looking for someone who have the following experience and qualities:
- Have at least Level 2 Teaching Assistant and/or Level 2 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent to these)
- Be empathetic towards young people and seek to understand each child’s unique context and support behaviour accordingly, using positive relationships as your foundation.
- Have effective communication skills with both children and adults and sound functional skills (reading, writing, be numerate and have good spoken English).
- Be eager to work collaboratively in a wider team, adaptable and open to new ideas and practices
- Be a fast and highly flexible thinker, being able to deal with change and unpredictability positively with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- You will be committed to fully inclusive practices and understand the importance of meeting the needs of the whole child. Experience of working with SEN children preferable
