Salary: £23,481 per year

Job term: Permanent, Term Time- 40 weeks per year

Hours: 37.5

Location: South Brent

We’re looking for a Woodland Learning Support Assistant to help students build practical skills, work collaboratively, and grow through creative challenges in the outdoors.

About the Role:

As a Woodland Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with small groups and individual learners across all site groups. You’ll support forest school activities, help develop practical skills and encourage personal growth in an outdoor environment that promotes resilience, creativity, and teamwork. This role requires adaptability, a passion for the outdoors, and experience working with learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Outdoor Learning Support: Assist in forest school activities and hands-on learning across multiple groups.
  • Project Development: Create and support outdoor sessions that encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and practical skills.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Deliver lessons that connect with school learning goals and community engagement.
  • Behavioural Insight: Support students' social and emotional development, with a focus on behaviour management.
  • Safeguarding: Promote a safe, supportive environment, prioritizing students’ well-being.
  • Reflective Practice: Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance the learning experience for all.
  • Adaptable Teamwork: Work flexibly across groups, providing 1:1 support as needed.

This role requires a DBS.
