This role presents an exciting opportunity to enhance excellence in our alternative provision by overseeing our Plymouth Centre for Year 7 to Year 11 students. You will have the chance to inspire key workers, teachers, and subject leads. Your responsibilities will include managing, mentoring, and developing staff delivering education at the Plymouth Central site. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and implementing student programs aligning with the company's vision.
Your role will involve supervising and ensuring the proper implementation of qualifications at the Plymouth Central site, maintaining updated paperwork, and providing relevant training for staff. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations at the Plymouth Central site, collaborating closely with the Operational Manager. Representing Poles APart in professional meetings requiring feedback about a student will be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other centre managers/directors to exchange ideas, address challenges, and engage in professional development activities.
The role involves ensuring compliance with trauma-informed guidance and practices from TIS at the Plymouth Central site, overseeing staff adherence to the PACE approach and Elephant Counselling scheme. Collaborate with the Operational Manager to uphold morning and afternoon routines, address timetable or staffing concerns, and supervise all visits to the centre. You will act as the primary contact for professionals visiting the Plymouth Central site and assist the DSL as a DDSL in implementing robust safeguarding measures. Supervise the application of a TEACCH style intervention model, handle necessary referral paperwork for new students, and support the Referral Manager in onboarding students. Work with the staff to ensure high-quality lesson delivery and assist in managing student behaviour. Attend bi-weekly management meetings and utilise various processes and monitoring techniques to oversee teachers and subject leads.
